Each cartridge is loaded to ensure optimal pressure, velocity, and consistency. The XTP features a heavier jacket, which stands up to the high pressures and velocities of the highest performance handgun.

Kudos to CTD for prompt shipping and good price for this ammo. I have used Hornady ammo before and am satisfied with it. So I ordered the 44magnum 180gr 1550fps ammo for my gun as a self defense round. Its accurate but the muzzle flash this round produces from my 4" barrel is like a camera flash going off. This would most likely leave you temporarily blind in a low light situation. So if you just want to zip this stuff down range during the day or use it for hunting it would probably be ok but wouldn't recommend in low light situation that you may encounter in a SD situation. This is why I rated it 3 stars, performance wise great just like their 300gr ammo but the muzzle flash on this is just too much.

This is the best ammo money can buy. I have a s/w 44 model 29 6" barel and have taken deer with it . One at 45 yds and others out to 100yds. One out to 120yds with the 240 grain bullet.

A little pricey for the everyday shooter but an excellent hunting round. I use it to shoot deer within 50 yards with my scoped handi rifle and they drop in their tracks. The only 44 mag ammo I use.
