The Gerber Bear Grylls Ultimate knife if super useful in the wild and offers a vital edge to any survivor. The stainless steel drop point blade is ideal for edge retention and cutting rope. The ergonomic rubber grip maximizes comfort and reduces slippage. The stainless steel pommel at the base of the handle is for hammering.

The Ferrocerium rod locks into the sheath and a striker notch is incorporated into the back of the knife blade. The nylon sheath is lightweight, military-grade, and mildew-resistant. The Priorities of Survival is also included, which contains Bear's survival essentials. The Ultimate Knife is the pinnacle of Gerber's Bear Grylls Survival Series.

What I was surprised about with this knife that I found to be not mentioned as much as it should be is the bottom of the knife acting as a hammer. It is very strong and would work well as use as a hammer. I just got mine recently and CheaperThanDirt was by far and away the cheapest price I found for this knife. Honestly I haven't used it too much yet, but everything so far I really like about it. You ask me this purchases is a no brainier. I think too this would be the type of knife to buy a few backups.

I got this Grylls knife not knowing what to expect. What I got was a very solid knife with a nice rubber handle that was sharp out of the box. The fire starter snaps into the sheath under the knife and it will not be coming loose anytime soon, it is also water tight so as not to whet the starter. The knife snaps into the sheath in either direction and has a knife sharpener on the back of the sheath. For $40 you cant beat this as a survival Knife. I liked it so much I got a second for my BOB.
