Glaser Blue 9mm Luger +P 80 grain pre-fragmented safety slugs are designed not to penetrate barriers. The #12 shot is capped with a Blue ball. It produces immediate energy dispersal, creating abrupt stopping power. It is optimally designed for warmer climates and lighter clothing.

Shot it into a wooden beam and looks like it will drop your target. A must have in at least one magazine for home defense.

I tested this ammo as well as some from Mag Tech and was sprely disapointed. Regardless of the fragility of the bullet's construction, sometimes it would not fragment and would retain the bulk of the shot charge within the jacket. on a few instances the fore-section of the bullet broke away and left a profile much like a wadcutter. These rounds penetrated way too deep for a defensive load. Keep in mind that nothing is perfect. I have spent a good deal of mony on these founds in differant calibers and have had much the same results across the board. When they preform properly they make a massive, shallow wound. When they dont, they poke through like ball ammo. If you want guarnteed expansion, or as close as you can get to it, look at Cor-Bon Pow'rBall and Federal Expanding Full Metal Jacket. The EFMJ is my personal favorite in my guns that feed it 100%. The Pow'rBall is a near second.

This is pretty good ammo. But be forwarned because if you miss your intended target this stuff will go through standard insulated drywall walls in a residence. I tested this ammo and a ton of popular JHPs and a bunch of standard FMJ in both .40 and .38 special at an exterior range approximately 9 years ago with a set up of two standard walls spaced one foot apart. The two walls, total material added up to four pieces of standard residential drywall, 2 pieces of batted insulation, set in 2 X 4 frames. On the back of the rear wall was a drywall screwed 3/8 sheet of standard plywood. At 10 feet distance both blue and grey Glaser came out other side of plywood after passing through four sheets of drywall and two batts of insulation. Oh by the way all the other rounds had the same result as did selections from magsafe. However the slanted thick boiler plate iron backstop did stop all the rounds after exiting the plywood. I do believe that this round is a manstopper so to speak and that it will rarely if ever exit a human body even with light clothing. Just like most handgun rounds it reacts well to fluid targets but not to hard targets.

As a law enforcement officer I had to guard a burglar who was shot when the homeowner was awakened. When the surgeon finished he came out of surgery & asked, “What the hell was he shot with” I told him it was a single 9 mm. Glaser Safety Slug. He went on to say he had never seen so much damage from one bullet. He told me it looked like hamburger on the inside. I was sold. The next day off I went around town till I found some to buy.
