I received the Pachmayr grips for the S&W model 39 and they fit/work gr8 ... I had to trim the mounting holes just slightly as it is a really snug/tight fit over the mounting posts ... since the grips came with no instructions, I was very thankful for the other reviewer's comments/advice which came in very handy during the installation ... I'm very happy with the results in terms appearance, fit & feel... these grips exude a workman-like quality with that kind of heavy duty, "wash and wear" feel to them ... and being black rubber all around, they really make my S&W model 39 look lean, mean and all business -- ready for action! -ry-

The old walnut checkered panels for my 39-2 we're strting to deteriorate, wante something a bit more ddrable for my carry gun. Wow, was I impress. For $22 these are some well made, sturdy "meaty" grips. They fit my gun perfectly, and beefed up the grip which is good for my big paws. These are metal re-enforced, and fit snugly around the existing nippples for the screw holes. Some advice, line the backstrap strip up first, put a side of the grip on (magazine release side), then stretch the grip around so it catches the other side of the backstrap to pull it into the slot on the grip. Makes a tight fit.
