Applegate-Fairbairn® Covert™, Double Bevel -
Designed by the Legendary Colonel Rex Applegate, a man who knew as much as anybody about close quarters combat, these knives embody his vision of a folding combat knife. Gerber's Applegate-Fairbairn® line of knives are one handed opening, liner lock knives ideal for many situations.

The Covert™ is a 3/4 version of the Combat Folder. Designed for inconspicuous carry, the Covert™ has a reversible stainless steel pocket clip. With an opening stud on both sides, this knife is easily adapted for left handed use. The blade is made from ATS-34 stainless steel. The Covert™ also is the first product to incorporate the Interlock, a Gerber exclusive. This is a safety that firmly locks the liner in place, preventing accidental unlocking of the blade.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

Spear Point Blade -
The classic stabbing blade is the spear point which can have two edges sharpened or only one with a false edge on the spine. The spear point usually has both edges taper equally to a point that is exactly in the center of the blade but sometimes has different profiles for the spine and edge.

Roto Lock -
A lock having a rotary bolt which must be rotated to different angular positions as it is slid longitudinally from the locked to the unlocked position.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

5.0 Rating Amazing Knife - 3/2/2008
Reviewer: Darkseed
I got this knife as a present 2 years ago and I got to say this is one of the best knifes I had ever had in my life. It is very durable, you would not believe the amount of abuse that I have put it trough and it still works. It is also a great knife for throwing but it takes a little bit of practice, I have hit a target from 25 feet away and it earned my 5 bucks from the bet I made with my friend. Worth buying.

5.0 Rating Applegate-Fairbairn Covert Folder - 6/8/2008
Reviewer: Militia Volunteer
Approximately 5 years ago, I decided to splurge on a "quality knife" instead of the $10 generics I had been carrying my whole life. I ended up buying this knife. It has opened my eyes to the value of a quality knife. Since then, I have purchased other brands and styles, but none compared to this knife. I have lost 5 or 6 in the past 5 years, but always buy another- it is THAT GOOD. The only improvement could be a reversible pocket clip for ambi users or tip up carry...

5.0 Rating Best Knife Ever! - 12/4/2008
Reviewer: Kerry
Hands down best knife I've ever owned. Lost one a year ago and immediately bought another, plus it's little brother the "mini-covert". Quality = second to none. Fit, finish, feel = really really good. I carry it everywhere, It has a large blade for such a very compact handle that easily, discretly and comfortably fits in your pocket. Worth every penny and more. Comes sharp as hell, maybe doesn't hold an edge the best, but the serrated section REALLY gets it done! Effectively unbreakable. This is my knife for life.

5.0 Rating Nice Blade - 5/22/2009
Reviewer: Justin
This is probably the best folding knife Gerber has ever made. Simple, sharp, slim. It has a lock that will not allow the linerlock to come undone under heavy usage, so when you open the knife and st the lock, it is practically a fixed blade. With that said, I have yet to find a knife under 100 bucks that has an indestructible pocket clip. This knife has an excellent pocket clip, I however, am rough and bent the hell out of it several times. I have been successful in rearranging the knife clip though. Overall, a great knife, maybe a little overpriced.
