Guardian Back Up® -
This is a professional fixed blade knife that takes a mighty serious cut at self defense. It features blackened-and therefore non-reflective-stainless steel in a 3/4 tang blade. It's lightweight. It's compact. It's effortless to carry, and agile to use. Importantly, the Santoprene® covered nylon handle is very much at home in the hand of those who take on life's nastier tasks.

Spear Point Blade -
The classic stabbing blade is the spear point which can have two edges sharpened or only one with a false edge on the spine. The spear point usually has both edges taper equally to a point that is exactly in the center of the blade but sometimes has different profiles for the spine and edge.

Fixed Blade -
A fixed blade is a solid piece of steel, anchored to the handle without any folding mechanisms. It's durable and holds up well against the elements.

Santoprene® -
This material is a thermoplastic compound that is processed in much the same way as any type of plastic. The difference is that Santoprene® possesses the same levels of flexibility and durability that are commonly found with natural rubber compounds. Because of the longer life of Santoprene® in both extreme hot and cold environments, the material is often preferred over the use of rubber.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

I carry this lovely blade in my tac vest. The spear type blade and rubber handle makes it impossible to relieve me of my weapon.

Nice blade, but the sheath is very cheap, and has since broken. Of course, it's a proprietary sheath design, so I'll have to look for another that can work. The concept is nice, but there are better options out there for daggers.

This knife is fantastic! I wear this in my boot with my tactical police gear and always know its there if I need it. By far the sharpest knife I own and I have not had to sharpen it once. It is a little on the expensive side, but you pay for what you get. If I am buying a backup weapon, I would rather pay extra to have this quality product.

I have this knife on the leg strap to my molle led drop platform its comfortable easy to draw and perfectly balanced so its easy to throw if the need arises.

Ive had this knife for about a year. It is very sharp, And you can adjust how hard or easy it is to pull out of the sheath. There is a lil rust on the tip of my blade, I should send it back to gerber and get it replaced. I havent had to use mine yet, but this thing will pack one hell of a lil punch.
