||Nice Alternative - 12/7/2012|
|I purchased this so that I could get some economical range time and training for my wife on the AR platform. I put it on a S&W M&P lower. The weight and feel is very similar to a standard AR, even though this upper is polymer. I had to take a 1/4" drill bit and ream out the holes for the take down and pivot pins, but that was no problem and took about 30 seconds by hand. This upper has a functional dust cover and a "forward assist" that is for show only. The charging handle functions correctly, but is not removable. The rail seems to be standard and accepted the rear sight I purchased with no issues. I cycled three full magazines through it without firing and find the magazines are going to cause problems. Many partial feeds, FTF and just plain problems. I have ordered some Black Dog Machine mags that are highly rated. I think if I am careful when loading the included magazines (two) and don't fully load them. I will have better luck. I have not yet fired this so I can't comment on actual function or accuracy yet.|

||Junk - 7/12/2014|
|Received. Looked Cheap. I took the bolt out to see construction and had difficulty inserting bolt back into charging handle and upper. I tried to install on my Bushmaster lower. It didn't fit--- too long. I mounted the front pin fine but when I tried to get the back to engage it would not. upper receiver too long. So long the bolt actually pushed down the retaining pin to the buffer tube and release the buffer and spring. Tried on another lower, DS Arms, same thing.
Spend the extra money and don't throw it away on this JUNK.|
