3.0 Rating Good, but not Great - 7/14/2014
Reviewer: Ian Yang
Ok, so here it goes – The very first thing that I must mention is that I am a gun owner who absolutely loves to add all sorts of gadgets and gizmos to my weapons without physically modifying the originality of the weapon itself. If you’re anything like me, DO NOT BUY THIS RIFLE! With the Centurion 39, this option is drastically limited and next to nearly impossible. I can guarantee you that you will NEVER find a collapsible butt stock for this rifle that will improve it. Nothing fits it without various modifications and even if you are the type that does do mods, it just looks downright silly on this AK. (Trust me, I’ve seen may weird variations.) The optics mount that is normally found on the side of almost all standard AK47s, does NOT exist on the Centurion 39 AK47. I’m sure you can get one installed if you purchase the right parts and take it to smith to install for you, but why would you shell out even more money for something that should already come with one. This is a problem for me as you can purchase other AK47s out there that already comes with a mount. Some even have better pricings than this one does. The forehand grip is garbage. It may look cool all around in the images, but in actuality, performs poorly. The top and side rails are standard picatinny rails that work like they should, but the bottom part, the most important piece where you would mount a hand grip, only works half way. The further towards the trigger you go, the tighter the rail gets therefore, is unable to accommodate a grip in the position you would like. On the upside of the Centurion 39, it is a very, VERY sturdy weapon and excellently crafted right here in the US. The rattling found on most imported AKs are completely absent on the Centurion 39. I’ve ran about 1000 rounds on my Centurion 39 and have had no fails on firing, feeding, and ejecting. This thing is built like a tank and lives up to the AK47 name. The bottom line is, if you want a solid rifle and want to keep it as is, the Centurion 39 Sporter AK47 is the rifle for you. If you gadgets and gizmos on your rifle, keep looking.

4.0 Rating Blend of old and new - 3/22/2014
Reviewer: Eric
I did extensive web research on this rifle before purchasing it. It seems there are as many negative reviews as there are positive. found some older magazine reviews but manufacturing has changed some since then. Also, prices listed in these older articles show that the price has dropped around $400 since it was introduced so for me was a great deal. CTD had the best price I could find. I have not fired the rifle yet so I can only comment on the quality of the rifle itself. I am impressed with the fit and finish and how light it is. I am extremely happy I bought it now and didn't wait. Ammo is cheap right now for this caliber so I'm stocking up before the prices go up. Also, magazine availability and prices are great. This is a great addition to my collection and gives me another caliber for my defensive collection.

4.0 Rating The Jury is still out... - 3/25/2014
Reviewer: RCA
I took the rifle to the range yesterday and put 120 rounds through it. It was very accurate with the stock iron sights. No issues with the magazines that it came with or the 2 others I purchased from CTD. Both were metal. The IO Inc and the Century International Arms AK47 Ribbed Steel. When I removed the bold to clean it, there was a little piece floating around. It turned out to be the gas tube end. Century sent me a shipping label today and I will need to return the rifle and it is supposed to take 4-6 weeks. Not very happy about that. I will provide an update on that process. The C 39 worked perfectly, not sure when the piece came loose, but it did not affect the performance at all. The piece in question is about the size of a button on your shirt.

4.0 Rating Jury still out part 2 - 4/21/2014
Reviewer: RCA
As a recap, the end of the gas tube detached on the first trip to the range. 120 rounds were fired without any malfunctions. I don't know when it detached. It could have been on the first or last round. I called Century and then promptly emailed a shipping label. I received the C39 back on the 4/18. It was a total surprise, I wasn't notified that it had been shipped. I did receive an email today, 4/21, saying it had been shipped on 4/16. So, the whole process took about 3 weeks instead of the 4-6 weeks I was told. That is good news. The paperwork states that they replaced the recoil spring guide and gas tube & polished chamber. 4 bullets for faster than expected turnaround, but a little lack of communication. If I have any issues moving forward I will post them. P.S. Century says they don't know of any adjustable stocks that fit the C39.

5.0 Rating century c39 - 5/10/2014
Reviewer: MANTHEGAP
I think these Century c39 are the COLTS of the AK world! They are as good as it gets for AK type weapons and they are made right here in the USA. Have shot several hundred rounds with NO problems and the gun is very accurate. AK's are not pretty but this gun is quality, although the forearm/gas tube cover need replacing if optic desired.
