It is considered by many as the smoothest, most compact, handiest and most beautiful lever action ever offered by Winchester. This Model 92 Short Rifle is in a classic round barrel configuration in two excellent calibers -- the 357 is suitable for hunting and Cowboy Action duties, while the 44 Rem. Mag. makes its mark as a great caliber for hunting in brushy conditions with fast moving game.

Attention to detail is something you will notice, like the one-piece steel crescent buttplate just like the originals, and a Marbles gold bead front sight that adds a dose of traditional class. This rifle features a convenient rear tang safety.

5.0 Rating Great Looking Rifle - 9/20/2012
Reviewer: Happy Buyer
Even though this gun is made in Japan by the Miroku Co., the quality is excellent. Everything is highly polished to a mirror finish, gun feels very solid and well built, nothing rattles around, and the action is buttery smooth and should only get better with use. I just received this today from my FFL and haven't taken it to the range yet, so my review is based solely upon visual inspection and cycling the action. I will add more to my review after I take it to the range. After researching the Miroku Co., I felt better about my purchase. Miroku has made firearms for well over 100 years and are known for excellent quality. They also make all Browning Citoris, which are stellar shotguns. They also make all these other firearms for Browning: Cynergy, BLR Lightweight, BLR Lightweight '81, A-Bolt II, X-Bolt, BT-99, BL-22 Rifle, Auto-22 Rifle, T-Bolt, BPS (all), and Gold 10 ga. Hope this helps.

5.0 Rating Old School Quality Bar None - 2/8/2013
Reviewer: Gunblast
I bought the Winchester Model 1892 chambered for the 357 Magnum. The rifle is one of the finest guns that I've ever owned. Fit and finish are all first rate, and the action is so smooth. Before I took the gun to the range I called Winchester and asked a tech whether I could fire 38 special from the rifle, and I was told it depends on the brand, because there it approximately a 1/8 inch difference in lenth between the 2 calibers. To my surprise, the Winchester ate 4 different brands of 38 special with the same precision as the 357 Magnum. The rifle is extremely accurate, and the clusters were within 1 1/2 inches at 25 yards shooting from a standing position. With a handrest - shots grouped within 1/2 inch at 25 yards. The 357 Magnum is very comfortable, with only a mild recoil. The 38 special is extremely light, and it would be great as a training rifle for a first time shooter. Nice to know that I can target practice all day and still load it with 357 Magnum to bag a deer if I'm hungry. Great value in a rifle, and Cheaper Than Dirt is a great vender.
