4.0 Rating Hi-Point 9mm Compact Pistol - 7/29/2014
Reviewer: hwabear
I read a LOT of reviews of Hi-Point pistols and carbines. The complaints I see most are: (1) They are ugly, (2) They are heavy, They are "junk". I don't consider them "ugly". Up next to a XD 9mm, they aren't as "cosmopolitan" but far from "ugly". They ARE heavier than your $400-$2000 9mm pistol. They are NOT "junk". I have quite a bit of experience with Hi-Point pistols and carbines and here is what I would say. If you want a REASONABLY PRICED weapon that is RELIABLE and comes with a LIFETIME warranty, then buy a Hi-Point. If it weren't for the heavier weight of the Hi-Point 9mm pistol, I would have given it 5 bullets instead of 4. I really don't mind the extra weight because it cuts down on the recoil and helps to "re-acquire" the target faster. So, IMHO, my purchase of this pistol was money WELL SPENT~~!!

4.0 Rating Hi-Point is on point - 9/3/2014
Reviewer: Bruce
OK. This gun works. It can be picky with ammo, it does not like really cheap stuff. You have to fix the magazine feeder lips for reliable operation. But once this is done, and the gun is broken in, it will fire round after wound down the range. At 10 yards 3 magazines made a really big hole, and a few flyers. I have put over 250 rounds through mine, and it is a fun gun to shoot. The heaviness of the slide really takes the kick out of the 9mm. I think I may get the 45 just for fun.

5.0 Rating great gun - 9/22/2014

No mater what other people say, this is a great gun. It's not a nail driver, but for the price, awesome. It's worth at least twice this price. No FTE of FTF after 500rds. Love it.

4.0 Rating Energizer Pistol - 1/1/2015
Reviewer: John H.
Bought mine from CTD back in summer, having previously purchased the 9 carbine. I love them both, and for the money you would be crazy to pay more. Pistol is accurate enough on paper to take care of business in the real world. Ammo accuracy is a necessary element, so buy cheap ammo, shoot cheap. Shot it Xmas day with the family out back and out shot a big name 9 MM, and I was shooting Tulammo. Use mine with a bianchi model 7001 molded size 13 holster w/ thumb break. Sweet combo for open carry, and yes, it is heavy. Same reason for 4 out of 5 bullets.

5.0 Rating Don't belive the criticism - 3/2/2015
Reviewer: Ryan
After much deliberation on whether or not to buy a Hi Point handgun, I decided to take the plunge. I figured for 135 bucks there wasn't much to lose and if it didn't work, a lifetime warranty should solve any problem I'll ever have with it. That being said, my expectations were pretty low. I got it from CTD to my FFL dealer who gave me crap for buying it which I didn't really listen to because he'd admitted he'd never even fired one. This seems to be the case with the vast majority of critics. Because it's not a $550 gun, they assume it's crap but haven't had any experience with one. I received the gun, bought 3 different boxes of ammo, cheap to midrange prices and fired 300 rounds right out of the box with no ftf or fte's. I was blown away with how well it performed. I've fired many guns from Glock to Sig to cheaper ones like Taurus. This is not a Glock or Sig. It's heavy and not recommended for CC. But for the price, I'd recommend everyone get one just for the time to see what the deal is with these guns. If more people actually fired these and saw how they perform, there wouldn't be as many ''haters".
