My hand-me-down Model 70 Mountain rifle has been back to the factory, and had hand loads repeatedly tweeked to get it under an inch at 100 without results. With this ammo, down to about 1/2 inch. It was the right ammo for the right gun in this case. No more than one shot on 2 whitetails so far.

These may be great rounds for long range deer hunting where the velocity drops off. However, I shot a small doe (100 lbs) at about 20 yards, the bullet disintegrated inside the deer leaving no exit wound nor blood trail... not a good all around bullet. Too fast? Too explosive? Too light? I won't shoot another deer with these, maybe antelope at 100+ yds, or coyotes.

awesome round. Shot many deer with this round. Very accurate, devistating wounds. Never had any animal go more than 25 yds. and if the do move the leave a very big blood trail. Made a few does do summersaults. This is the only round that goes in my Ruger M77 .280

I've used these since they came out with great results. From 8 to 315 yds. I have piled whitetails where they stood or were running. The best is seeing the white belly flash in the scope.
