Purchased 1 case of Remington/45-70 300 gr HP ammo from Cheaper than Dirt. Very accurate, consistent 1 1/2 in. groups @ 100 yds fom my Sharps and relatively flat compared to heavier bullets. Have shot 2 free ranging buffalo (American Bison) with this load. 1 a cow @ 175 yds and a mature bull about 60 yds - 2 shots each. Recovered 1 fully expanded bullet from under off side hide on each one with 1 round completely passing thru each animal. Great performace, price and service from Cheaper Than Dirt. I'd recommend this to anyone.

I have shot many, many whitetail deer here in Maine and most of them were with the 45-70 Government. Each of those deer was taken with the Remington 300 Grain JHP ammo in my rifle. No deer ever took a single step when I hit them with this powerhouse. I have also taken a moose with this ammunition with great success though it did walk about 30 yards before dropping. The nearly half inch bullet hits hard making a large wound channel but being a hollow point it also expands quickly and delivers nearly 100% of it's energy into a deer sized animal with awesome results. So many other calibers and types of ammo blow right through an animal taking much of their energy with them when they exit. You won't have that problem with this ammo if you can hit what you're aiming at. There are a lot of "armchair internet experts" out there when it comes to firearms and ammo but based on my decades of firsthand hunting experience with this ammo I HIGHLY recommend it. That's just about all I can say about that, lol. Best of luck to you!
