Mule deer, white tails, or black tails, Federal has the ammo you need to take them in the Power-Shok line. This example, in 12 Gauge, has a 2-3/4" shell loaded with a 1 oz Rifled Hollow Point Slug, which it fires at 1610 fps. It's intended for smooth bore barrels.

This line offers you a full complement of rifled slugs for just about every shotgun gauge. If you shoot with a 410, 20, 16, 12 or 10 gauge, you'll find a slug for your smoothbore here. Remember, "rifled" slug means the slug is rifled, not your barrel. This soft lead slug delivers good expansion and is accurate out to 100 yards.

These are great slugs. I tried them on my Wilson Border Patrol 12 gauge shotgun that I recently bought. I was scared of the recoil when I first shot it but I was able to handle the recoil and keep the muzzle on the target for follow up shots. I had great grouping.

These are your dream slug. 3" 5 shot (not 3 shot) group at 50 yards using the bead sight on my Mossberg 500. The range officer was all ticked off at me because they had just changed the backboard and i was ripping 3/4" holes into it. These things also wont break your shoulder either, meaning MORE ROUNDS WITHOUT A BREAK!!! These things will do some serious damage to deer, black bear, or wild boar. If you dont care to much you could even use them for coyote (I'll stick to my 6.8mm). Take some of Federal's power-shok buckshot along and you can hunt long or short range!!!

For the price it shoots the best in my smooth bore. I have tried the higher priced slugs and they are all over the place, with this I can get consistent grouping at 30 yards and 50 yards within a pie plate free standing and on a pod rest.

Good for what it is. This ammo is clean burning and powerful,I don't like it as much as the 1 1/4 oz 3" max loads that federal makes. But this is good ammo and it'll put a huge hole in a deer.
