You spend all year dreaming of the moment of truth-why trust it to anything less than the best. Vital-Shok is available with the world's finest big game bullets. Match that with world-class brass, select powders and legendary primers and you get ammunition you can truly believe in.

Sierra GameKing bullets are designed for hunting at long range, where their extra margin of performance can make the critical difference. GameKing bullets feature a boat tail design to bring hunters the ballistic advantage of match bullets. The streamlined tapered base of the boat tail bullet greatly reduces drag, which results in higher retained velocity, greater striking energy, a flatter trajectory and less wind drift than comparable flat base bullets.

this is by far the best ammo i've ever used in my remington 700 rifle chambered in .243 win. i've used several quality brands of ammo over the last 25 years in this rifle and nothing i've found can hold a candle to this ammo. a friend told me about this ammo after a very bad experience i had with another brand. it turned out to be the best advice he gave me. it absolutely levels whitetail deer and anything else you shoot. its very flat-shooting and don't let the lightweight bullet fool you, because i thought this was a predator-type round when i first saw it. i won't use anything else in this rifle for deer-sized game.

5.0 Rating .243 Best Round - 11/7/2008

I am 36 years old and started shooting my .243 when I was 13 for Whitetail Deer. I lost a lot of deer until I started using this bullet about 20 years ago. This is by far the very best round to shoot in a .243. My whole family hunts including my sister, my mother and my three daughters. We all shoot this round through our .243. I have also killed three black bears with this round in which all three were dropped in their tracks. Pay the extra bucks for this bullet it's worth it!

5.0 Rating INCREDIBLE - 12/5/2008
I have done a lot of shooting over some 50 years and have become quite accomplished at what I can do with a Remington 700 rifle. My 700 is has been blueprinted, the bolt/chamber lapped custom crowned and my trigger pull is set at 1.2 lbs. For many years, I hand loaded my ammo to achieve the accuracy that I wanted as no factory load could "cut I the mustard." Using my hand loads on a bench, my best 5-shot center-to-center 100 yard group (shooting playing cards for nice sharp-edged, easy to measure hole edges was .294.'') As I get older, time seems to accelerate so instead of doing the time consuming handloads, I tried this round by chance. I was astonished with its accuracy immediately with my fist three shots piercing a card in a nice sub-minute group. I moved the sight to accommodate its particular flite characteristics and while still in the same box, I put three rounds inside of a dime without breaking the edge of a dime! Since then, I have not loaded another round and have hunted with this round for years. The Federal ballistic chart precisely predicts where the bullet will impact if zero is set at 1.125" high at 100 yards. I have learned over time, that a hollow point is better stabilized in flight than the so-called "ballistic tip" stuff that is sold for accuracy. This a VERY flat shooting rifle and despite being a hollow point, it carries massive amounts of energy down range and hits very hard because of its boat tail profile. The boat tail also minimizes wind drift. I have many one shot kills on coyotes, crows, deer, and even a 300+ pound wild hog. While the hog was put down with one shot – it still was 200 yards. Multiple whitetails have been taken at over 300 yds, however, it should be stated that this round really "runs out of gas" at 350 yds. There…if that hasn't said it all, what else can? This is THE performance bullet that everyone wants, but cannot find. Ps: No I do not work for Federal ammunition and my opinions are entirely my own.
