2.0 Rating Bad batch of cases - 1/24/2011Ammo .44 Remington Magnum Blazer Jacketed Hollow Point 240 Grain 1200 fps 50 Round Box2.0000

I have shot about 10 boxes of these in my Marlin 1894 then suddenly the last 4 boxes I purchased have trouble feeding. The case rims are very rough and sometimes too thick. I had 10 rounds that would not allow the level to lock closed. Bad quality assurance. I think I will switch to all brass case ammo.

Was not disappointed with this ammo at all. I did not like the fact that I had feeding problems, but it was a used auto loader (Ruger carbine). After tuning the feed ramp & chamber mouth with some rifler files, no problems! Nice 8 pointer this past week! 1 round, through thick pines, about 45 yards. No problem.

I shoot these in my Marlin 1894 rifle and they are great. Clean, always function well and easy to shoot. Wish the they were on sale more often.

I bought a box of these for my Desert Eagle. After at least 2-3 shots it would jam in the barrel. I’ve never had this problem with any other .44 Mag ammo except this.

I was using the Blazer ammo to zero my new scope that I had mounted on my S&W 629 light hunter. Once zero'd, I could make all three rounds (3 round groups) touch at 25 yards. A couple of times it looked like a two round group. This was from a rested position at an enclosed range. I know that each cartridge fired without a problem and that they were very accurate. I can not tell you if they make a good hunting round or not based on velocity or energy because I have not researched these details. Based on recoil, this round is very tolerable so this may mean it is less hot. (Less hot for a .44 is still better than a .357 or .41.... ?) I am very impressed with the accuracy however. If hunting boar or black bear, I would go with something much hotter with a jsp. For smaller or thin skinned game I would say this Blazer ammo, along with a lot of less costly and less recoil practice it allows would be better for superior shot placement and quicker kills. If all you want to do is practice with it.....it is superb.
5.0 Rating works good in my guns - 1/29/2010Ammo .44 Remington Magnum Blazer Jacketed Hollow Point 240 Grain 1200 fps 50 Round Box5.0000

This ammo shoots good in my Redhawk and my marlin level action.
1.0 Rating Lack of Quality - 1/15/2010Ammo .44 Remington Magnum Blazer Jacketed Hollow Point 240 Grain 1200 fps 50 Round Box1.0000

I fired off a box of this ammo today. Until today I'd never had a cartridge fail to fire when the hammer fell. It was in a rental gun so at first I thought it could be the S&W 629 that simply wasn't hitting the primer hard enough. 4 or 5 rounds out of 50 failed to fire on the first strike. I tried each of them again and they did all fire on the second try. I next fired off a box of PMC brand ammo in the same gun and they all went bang when the hammer fell the first time, so I gather this ammo is garbage and the problem isn't with the gun. It was also very noticeable that Blazer is a wimpy load compared to other brands. It's "cheap" by today's standards, but it is weak and may or may not actually fire. This makes shooting an adventure unlike every other ammo brand I've ever tried that always fired. I guess I have wildly unrealistic standards to expect ammo in the 21st century to actually work.
2.0 Rating More like a .44 special - 3/27/2009Ammo .44 Remington Magnum Blazer Jacketed Hollow Point 240 Grain 1200 fps 50 Round Box2.0000

I wouldn't classify these in the Magnum catagory. They are quite Tame compared to Winchester or Remington of the same ratings. They were steel cased another drawback. So inflated specs. and steel case are my reason for 2 bullets.
4.0 Rating deer hunter 2 - 12/20/2008Ammo .44 Remington Magnum Blazer Jacketed Hollow Point 240 Grain 1200 fps 50 Round Box4.0000

I have been useing the 240 jhp for deer hunting since they opened Ohio to hand gun. This round has plenty of knock down power at 50 yards or more. Excelent expansion and very consistant. I have taken three deer at 80 95 and 130 yards. All three had much larger exit holes than the more common 60 yards or less. My guess is the higher speed at shorter range. I won't hesitate to take the 20 yard shot, but have had many of the deer taken at that range run long distance's and have very little expasion and internal fragmentation. Most have very clean pass through. I butcher my own deer and had one hit in the shoulder at short range that put a clean 44 cal size hole right through the bone. In short for the cost and convienence of factory loads I love this round. p.s. I shoot a Ruger super redhawk and have found that I get lead fowling and jacket damage leading to inconsistant groups if I shoot anything over 1200 fps or so. happy hunter
4.0 Rating Good " Target " Ammo - 9/4/2008Ammo .44 Remington Magnum Blazer Jacketed Hollow Point 240 Grain 1200 fps 50 Round Box4.0000

These Are Good Rounds No Doubt. But I Would Only Recommend These Type Rounds For Target And Plinking Only. They Don't Have As Heavy Of a Powder Load As Regular .44 Magnum Rounds And Do Not Have Superior Knock Down Power. But Like I Said They Are Great For Target Shooting. I Once Shot An Armadillo 5 Times With These Rounds And He Sill Go Away.
