.45 ACP Blazer Full Metal Jacket Round Nose 230 Grain 845 fps 50 Round Box

Great ammo if you can buy it cheap. Over the past 5 years I've shot over 10,000 rounds of it and never had a problem. Several 1911 pistols, S&W 1917 revolver and Ruger Blackhawk not to mention my 1927A1 Thompson loves it too. Based on what another reviewer wtrote I dug some out of my emergency (attacked by alien-mutant-zombie-ninja-bears) stash. I had put some Blazer ammo in a GI fifty-cal ammo can in 2003. I fired one complete box and all 50 went bang as expected. It shoots to point of aim. I ran ten rounds over my chronograph with an average of 855 fps. I also had cycled 24 rounds (3 mags full) through a 1911 before I went to the range and saw no signs of bullet setback. I carry four loaded mags in a Bianchi quad mag pouch when I go backpacking for the weekend and you can really feel the weight savings from the aluminum cases. You can really tell the difference with a 50 round Thompson drum or a 30 round stick mag too. And since it's not reloadable I use it for plinking out at the gravel pit or on the farm and don't have to worry about losing the cases. I think it's great ammo for what it is. The only reason I didn't rate it a five was because it's not JHP.
Good Range Round, But Not Too Sound

.45 ACP Blazer Full Metal Jacket Round Nose 230 Grain 845 fps 50 Round Box

These .45 rounds are fine for the range and load and shoot well enough, although they seem to shoot dirtier than both Magtech and S&B in this caliber. While the price is right, they are absolutely ordinary and not of a quality sufficient to make them "rainy day" storage ammo to squirrel away in quantity for serious emergencies. I wouldn't want to trust my life to a round of Blazer that had been sitting in an ammo can in my basement for five years. Plink with this stuff, but use the money you save toward nicer ammo for other purposes.
Not Reliable Over Time

Okay for practice when fresh, but if it's several months old, it is unreliable. I used some fresh out of the box and they were fine, and used some of the same box several months later, and the bullets were slipping out of their cases, causing problems with my pistol. This ammo is trash, and I'd stay away from it.
great practice ammo
