Doesn't seem that much different than the regular Bore snake. I'll pass on the Viper for my next one. I tried tugging on the brass pull and it won't come off. Seems like if they had a manufacturing problem with it, they must have fixed it.
5.0 Rating Great cleaning - 12/2/2011Hoppe's Boresnake Viper, M16, .22, and .223 Remington Caliber Rifle5.0000

I use this to "finish" my cleaning only because I don't want wash out the boresnake after every use. It is the easiest, most efficient way to clean your bore. I run a soaked patch through a few times and let it sit about 5 minutes, then a few dry patches to get most of the gunk out. Last I put a few drops of oil on the boresnake and pull it through 4 times. I've tested the bore by running a solvent soaked patch through again and got no fouling.
5.0 Rating "Viper" beats "Snake" - 6/21/2011Hoppe's Boresnake Viper, M16, .22, and .223 Remington Caliber Rifle5.0000

First I thought "I have a snake, Why do I need a viper?". When I tried it I found it to work slightly better and smoother than the snake, the "snake" is now put away. It is a little smaller but works a little better.
