Affords quick, efficient reload with second magazine. Design features a Top Round Protector to prevent the top round from being dislodged forward in the extra magazine due to firing of the weapon. Ensures proper staggering by utilizing fixed standoff points molded into the carrier to prevent the magazines from moving relative to each other. Constructed of a sturdy molded nylon case with three bolt through connectors to insure that the magazines are locked in place, even after repeated aggressive loadings or dropping of the magazines to the ground. Fits AR15-style, 30 round magazines.

This is the best mag coupler out there. It is made of high quality plastic and I overtightened the screws and the coupler bulged just a bit but did not break or crack at all or show any stress marks. I use this as a bipod to stand my AR-15 while I'm shooting and works PERFECT. VERY stable platform and made of all high quality components. It only accepts metal mags and even has specific instructions for the HK AR mags. Just because it doesn't accept polymer or wider mags does not mean it gets 4 stars. I do not see how a mag coupler can securely hold thinner and wider mags at the same time. That is why Safariland makes a MAGPUL specific model to better address your needs and deliver a better product rather than create something universal which will almost always compromise something. All said and done this is the best coupler.

Well made design that'll likely offer some protection for your magazines when dropping from your rifle. Unfortunately, while the pocket design offers protection, it also won't work with wider magazines, such as a Magpul, since the bottom of the magazine is far too wide to fit in the doublers’ pockets. I've seen ads using the same Safariland part number, but they specifically mention Magpul compatibility, so you might look for that version. In short, this works with metal mags, but may not with plastic mags. It definitely doesn't work with Magpul magazines.

If your looking for a better solution than taping two mags together, this is it. The Doubler is made out of high grade plastic and after taking it to the range a bunch I have yet to have any problems with it. Its been dropped a few times and besides a few scuff marks, it performs wonderfully. With a little practice you can switch between mags like nobody's business. Here is how I rate this item... 1. Quality construction = 4 out of 5 stars. The only thing better would be to use the same plastic polymer that semi-autos are made of (like glock, springfield XDs, etc). 2. Installation = 5 out of 5 stars. Too easy - the only way you can screw this up is if you dont know how to use a screw driver. Loosen the screws, put in the mags, tighten them down and your done. Took all of 2 minutes & I didnt even need to read the instructions. 3. Ease of use - very easy to use. After practicing about an hour you'll look like a pro when you do your mag changes. While others are pulling a mag out of their belt cases, you will be putting rounds down range & taking care of business. 4. Flexibility - IOW this item can be used not only with .223/5.56 mags, it also works with the blackdog 22 conversion mags. Its a versatile product that performs as advertised. 5. Cons - I have yet to run into a problem, but then again I havent hit the deck hard with this, do a drop test or throw it across the range, so there is a possibility that a problem could occur, but I'll let someone else do that (I like taking care of my equipment and it takes care of me).
