I just received this dispenser, so I do not have any idea about its longevity. It doesn't seem to like the heavier extruded powders, like IMR 4350. I can only run that at slow speed and then still get about 25% overloads. It absolutely loves the smaller extruded powders, like Hodgdon 4895. Never a miss on medium speed and an occasional overload on fast speed. It does an excellent job on IMR 3031 on medium speed, but too many overloads on fast speed. On medium speed, it takes less than 10 seconds to throw 28 to 29 grains. The flake powders, like Red Dot, have to be run on fast speed. On that speed, it takes about 30 to 40 seconds to run out 5 grains of powder, but never a miss. I have always loved RCBS and the people who work there have always been friendly and helpful. I could not see paying the price difference. All in all, if this machine gives me years of service, I will be quite happy with it. I think that, in the future, Hornady might solve its problem with the large extruded powder kernels. I haven't used any ball type powders, but I have a feeling that this little machine would handle them quite nicely.
