This works very well to get a fast sharp blade. It is so good if you are not careful it will remove too much blade. Cannot beat the price and very fast. I recomend that you follow up with stones. If you do not have the time this will get you good to go.

While this will put a pretty good blade on in a couple minutes it is very easy to take far too much steel off of your knifes. I would suggest a good stone if you have time. On super hard blades though this is ok as long as you strop your knife after you use the Accusharp.

I bought this in hope that I could sharpen my machette with it. I could not have hoped for more. It made it shave with no more than five min. worth of work. I believe the carbide blades will last a long time but when in doubt, feel free to buy two of these. Worth every penny.

This sharpening tool is the fastest and easiest that I have ever used. It costs less than the replacement stones for a lansky clamp sharpener and are much more efficient, cleaner etc. I have used mine to sharpen my cold steel Kopis, a Fiskars Axe, all of my friends knives, all my "spare" knives, and then the weekly upkeep of my Benchmade Pinnacle which has an ATS-34 blade that takes an ALMOST hair shaving edge after each resharpening, (and I still dont need to flip the carbide teeth yet). If the crap ever hit the fan you will not just want this sharpener, you'll need it.
