All green laser products operating at 532nm are subject to varying degrees of illumination power loss in cold weather (60 degrees Fahrenheit or less) unless proper procedures are followed.

For optimal and maximum illumination in cold conditions:
1) Place 2 hand warmers around unit and secure with self adhering wrap which can be found in drug stores or camo color wraps in sporting goods stores. (The hand warmers slow down the heat loss through the aluminum housing).
2) Place a warm battery (room temperature) in the unit and turn on before going outside.
3) If the power level fluctuated, replace battery with a warm battery and continue use. (Rotate batteries as needed)."

I feel the same, bought this item from website and like the person said before burn your 100 bucks or send it to me, bc that is what you will get from this item, "triple" duty means I might as well used it to wipe after camping and doing "triple" duties myself in the woods, sorry but dont waste your money. thanks

Just go outside and set fire to that hundred dollar bill. My unit had ZERO adjustment for windage or elevation, it is by NO means a bright daylight laser. With a new set of batteries (came with Duds) it is usable for a night time device or daylight @25 yards ... that is, if you remount it in a straight 1" scope ring in line with the barrel (it comes with an offset mount) and shim it in to zero @25 yards (50 yards after dark if you prefere). Sightmark's tech dept. was of no help, after a week or so, they tried to tell me how to adjust a normal, working unit and refered me back to CTD if that didn't help. By then I had already accepted my loss .... Don't make the same mistake.

I purchased this item with the hopes of receiving a "bright", adjustable and well made laser: 1) The elevation and windage adjustments are a joke 2) They advertise 5mw, once you recieve it the specs say <5mw , I would guess its closer to 2mw 3) The mount is garbage 4) It didn't come with instructions Don't waste your time. Luckily Cheaperthandirt has a great return policy!
