Mine is black and mounted on an ultimak scout mount for an M1 carbine. The Dot brightness is good and adjustments work in various lighting conditions. I had some difficulty zeroing it in, but eventually got there. The graduated scale on the windage adjustment fell off when I was zeroing. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say. Buy it if your looking for a quality red dot w/ some magnification.
