I ordered the kit on Sunday with two day delivery. It was shipped on Monday, FedEx dropped it off on Wednesday, and tonight I put a few hundred rounds through it. I was concerned after reading that it won't fit some West German P226s with serial numbers starting with u0 and u1, but on my P226 s/n u174xxx (jj proof marks, 1988 frame), it fit and functioned absolutely perfectly. CCI Mini Mags and CCI AR Tactical rounds functioned flawlessly, Remington sub-sonic and Remington target rounds were about 90% functional. Not surprisingly, they wouldn't reliably cycle the action. I'm very pleased with the conversion kit. It's now part of my regular P226 bag. I recommend it.

After seeing some reviews complaining about Jams and Loading problems I was curious how this kit was going to work for me and my P226. Upon receipt of the kit, I noticed immediately that both the slide and barrel said P220 on them, though the packaging said for the P226. I decided to try out the fit anyways, and once the barrel settled in, everything went together fine. I also called Cheaper than Dirt to double check that these kits were interchangeable and they confirmed this to be true, the mags are the only difference. I went out to the range with it with a number of different ammo types and brands, from 36 grain federal bulk to High velocity 40 grain thunder bolt and wildcat to hyper velocity cci 32 Grain stinger 40 grain Velocitors and 60 Grain Aguila. All of the hyper velocity functioned flawlessly as did the thunder bolts and Wildcats. The federal bulk ammo had a couple of light strikes, but a second DA trigger pull always fired the round. All in all, this is a very good kit and a blast to shoot. Such a strange feeling though having so much of the .22 recoil absorbed by the full frame size and weight of the P226. I very highly recommend this kit to anyone who keeps their guns clean and in good working order as I do. I believe some of the problems people have with jams and such with these kits my just be due to some fouling that is gumming up the action. Keep in mind also, it is good practice with new firearms and accessories to thoroughly clean and oil them when you receive them. This will give it a good first cleaning and oiling, while removing all of the packing grease on the item.

Took it out to the range today and it was awesome. I put about 600-700 rounds through it and had 3 malfunctions. 2 of them I believe were bad primers and the other a round failed to be chambered. This conversion kit is very accurate and well worth the money.
