Lake Thunderbolt 2 Knife, Partially Serrated -
The knife is the Lake Thunderbolt 2 Knife, designed by Ron Lake, that features a 3.437" partially serrated tanto blade made of 8Cr14MoV stainless steel, .13" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-59. The blade of this knife has a serrated tip, a non reflective black oxide coat and an oval hole for ambidextrous one hand opening. The drilled charcoal gray anodized aluminum handle with bronze anodized accents, 4.31" closed, has a center swell with texture notches at the thumb rest and pommel for secure grip, dual stainless steel liners, a liner lock and LAWKS blade safety. A removable black oxide coated stainless steel pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end of this knife. The Lake Thunderbolt 2 Knife with partially serrated blade has an overall length of 7.75" when open, and it weighs 5.7 ounces.

Drop Point Blade -
This blade has a gentle, sloping convex curve to the point versus the concave curve of the clip blade. Being thicker, this blade point is stronger for heavier tasks. It stands up to abuse well, but isn't as effective for easy penetration.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

Tanto Blade -
This knife blade was inspired by the shape of the Japanese sword blades. The point to this style blade is in line with the spine of the blade. The tanto has a reinforced point which is thick and strong and is good for heavy duty stabbing cuts.

LAWKS® -
Many CRKT folders feature the patented Lake and Walker Knife Safety system. This system converts folders into virtual fixed blades when the blade is opened and locked, and when the LAWKS lever is slid forward. To fold the knife, simply slide the lever back, and release the liner.

Black Oxide -
is a conversion oxide coating formed on the metal surface as a result of a chemical reaction of the metal atoms with an oxidizing agent (air, aqueous solution, molten salts).

Ambidextrous -
Using both hands with equal ease. Pertaining to knives, it is a knife that is not solely designed for a left or right handed person but can be used with equal ease by both hands.

8Cr14MoV -
Chinese steel with similar performance characteristics to AUS 8. An excellent value priced steel for its performance.

Built Like a Rock! Great folder, sleek and sharp. The handle is a little thicker than expected, but the smooth action makes it a winner!!

This knife is easily in the top 5 out of all the knives I own and actually use. The serrations on the leading edge of the Tanto are insane - make short work of anything unfortunate enough to come in contact with them. Solid feel, quality construction (be sure to put a smidge of thread-lock on the pocket clip screws though to prevent them from working their way back out, of course), and overall a fantastic knife at any price, but a downright steal at CTD's price! The only reason it got 4 out of 5 was that mine arrived with some pretty hefty scratches on the handle - almost as though it was dropped and then stomped on on the concrete or something.

I was very surprised when I got this knife and it was a lot more than I thought it was by the picture it looked like plastic inside with thin guard like a utility knife,but it was far more solid and heavy and razor sharp,I only gave it 4 shots cause it just needs a little braking into to thumb open,but after it's open about an inch....you just flick it and she snaps rite into place with a safety button rite in place for your thumb,I'm very satisfied with this well designed knife....ED.K.S
