it holds clips well, just the right amount of tension, the paddle is shaped right to fit well. The only thing that could be different is if the hooks were on the mag side, but its debatable if it would make it better, i wear the paddle on the inside of my pants and the hooks on the paddle still grab my belt through my jeans, so i'm fine.

Perfect amount of retention on the 9mm and .40S&W mags for my GLOCKs and sits right where I want it. The only drawback is the way the belt retention is designed, where the belt stops are on the paddle itself rather than on the mag holder side. Due to this you have to wear the paddle on the outside of your pants between belt and pants, rather than slipping the paddle portion inside the waistband of your pants - which would not only provide a more sturdy ride but would show less of the pouch if you wanted to conceal this under a jacket. If the stops were on the mag pouch side I would have gave it 5 bullets...
