The slant muzzle brake actually increases the felt recoil and transfers that energy directly into the shoulder, which is actually a good thing. But, however and most importantly it keeps the muzzle down! Almost no muzzle climb, which is good so you can get faster follow up shots. If anything, while firing your weapon and looking down the sights you'll notice a slight "left to right movement" intsead of the typical "up and to the right movement" as with most firearms. This muzzle brake is very effective and will only add 3/4" of inch to the overall length.

This muzzle brake is very efftive. I have 2 ak's a romanian sar1 and a romanian warsa10. The 10 has one of thease on it and their is no muzzle climb. This brake wont reduce felt recoile but it makes it so you can keep it right on target no mater how fast you pull the triger. my sar1 I have full intention to put this brake on it.

I bought a WASR-10 with a welded on bayonet lug. I grinded the weld off and installed one of these. While it looks great on the gun, It fits loose. It does not affect shooting at all! I am glad I bought it! I might order the other one just to see how it looks. TAPCO make the best accesories period!

This is made to very high standards but it is not the best to tame the recoil of the AK, it is very easy to install though. If you really want a muzzle break get the AK-74 one here made by tapco, it has great recoil reduction!
