I bought this piece to keep from buying a whole new hand guard that has the rails built in for my DPMS Lite 20, and it fits great with no problems. I took the bottom guard off, removed the heat shield, attached the rail system, replaced the heat shield, and replaced the guard with no effort whatsoever. I would buy this part again and just so everyone knows this piece is made of plastic which means to me less weight.

Got this to mount on my S&W M&P 15. I had a Leapers quad rail on it, but thought I'd try this because it weighs quite a bit less. Im quite happy with it, installation was a little.... weird. You have to push the rail onto the fore-grip with a lot of pressure. The screws actually slid between my heat shield and the plastic grip itself. Overall it wasn't too difficult, I didn't need to modify anything or use any special tools. Its a definite lightweight alternative unless you need all of those rails. I mounted a grip and a laser - they fit very well and are sturdy. The other side will easily accommodate a flashlight.

So yeah i tried to put this on my new stag AR-15 and it was 1/4 inch off. i tried pressing it on the plastic was too hard. then i had to take a dremel tool with a sandpaper wheel and grind 1/4 inch off the inside of each side of the tactical rail. when i mean rail i mean the thing i just paid 19 dollars for. Then it fit on no problems. The angle is off a hair. I mean a hair but it works and looks great. I wish i wouldn't have had to modify this thing to make it work but I am a cheapo and didn't want to pay for shipping to send it back. I don't recommend this to anyone. go to a gun store or gunsmith and have a real one ordered and put on. cheap isn't always better.
4.0 Rating Rail Is Sturdy Enough, But Economy Has It's Price - 4/10/2010EMA Tactical AR-15 M16 and M4 Triple Rail Mounting system for standard handguards Black4.0000

Thanks to other reviewers: We would have assumed that there was a no-fit excerpt from your input. The rail seems well designed, formed with a slight bend to the circumference acting as a spring, keeping the mounts in tension to prevent loosening. We mounted the center rail along with the main assembly, which required the use of the three (3) longer screws and one (1) short screw. We first inserted the four nuts into the recesses in the center rail, pushing them in tightly (running a screw through each from the other side will help to seat them, but be sure they're positioned correctly first). The rail has three bosses in the main body. The fourth hole protrudes to the rear; that end of the casting has a larger diameter and must be positioned toward the magazine. Attach the center rail to the main rail assembly at the rearmost hole using a short bolt. You'll have to squeeze the two parts together and tighten it down well. Put the butt of your AR on the floor and push the handguard retainer ring down towards the magazine, while pulling out the magazine end of the handguard. (We only took out the lower guard since we wanted to mount the rail on the lower.) Having a second set of hands makes it a lot easier. Pull out both heat shields to avoid damaging them. Align the front end of the rail with the front edge of the grip surface; it won't fit anywhere but the front. Don't try to overlap the smaller diameter retainer ring or you'll not be able to get the guard back on the AR later. Put the half guard in a vice with the rail assembly positioned for mounting. Allow keep enough of the guard and rail above the vice jaws to allow you to get a phillips driver into at least one of the heads; two is better. Tighten the flat jaws slowly, taking care to use only enough force to seat the rail flush with the surface of the guard. Insert and tighten the screws a bit at a time until fully torqued. Push a nail set or similar tool onto the nut from the rear as you apply pressure to the screwdriver, or you may find the nut contrary. Re-position the guard in the vice to complete the procedure with the remaining screws. We found this rail to be surprisingly solid for it's polymer composition. But the product gets only four stars: we had to grind half the edge from the third boss to get a working fit. Otherwise, an excellent value for the price.
