I have purchased on of these for my Rock Island Armory 1911-A1, the reason is because the origianl equipment manufactured snapped into two pieces, and had to upgrade. The Wilson Combat extactor had to be fine tuned to fit, but was not the big of an ordeal, just had to bend a little bit toward the shell in order to get the extractor to get the gun to fead properly. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a broken extractor or just wants to upgrade to a better one.

Made of high-grade, resilient steel. It will need to be tensioned prior to assembly. The firing pin stop will need to be surface-ground on its right side, since the groove in the extractor is cut shallow. Wilson Combat does this to allow for a tight, "no rotation" fit of your extractor. The rear of the extractor already fits flush with the slide, which isn't always the case with 1911 extractors. Has a bevel-cut on the extractor hook for smooth cartridge feed. Not "drop-in", but high-quality which can be fitted to perfection.
