Wilson Combats "drop-in" barrel is exactly the same as Wilsons match barrel, with the critical lock-up contact areas cut to a dimension that provides a good lock-up in most Colt and Springfield pistols. Due to variations in pistol dimensions, installation in some pistols may require very minor material removal which most people can easily do themselves.

I have 2 1980 Mark IV Gold Cup Colts and the barrels are shot out. This item is not a perfect fit at all for the gun so I had to buy a small file and put hours of work into it to match the original barrel. it's also missing the ring that is usually mounted by the hole at the bottom of the barrel. I had to take this off the other barrel and re-mount it with a punch tool. With some elbow greese, it will work though, and now the gun is pretty accurate.
