Tanto Blur -
For top performance and attention getting style, it's the Kershaw Ken Onion Blur series. Blurs feature premium 13C26 stainless steel blades for strength and corrosion resistance. Choose standard or partially serrated blades. Blurs are SpeedSafe equipped for smooth, one-handed opening. The anodized aluminum handles are durable and lightweight. For extra traction and a secure grip, the handles are outfitted with Trac-Tec inserts. The rough Trac-Tec material provides a non-slip grip even in wet and slippery conditions. Ideal for extreme or everyday situations, the Blur series offers power and performance. New for 2007, we've added a Stone Washed Blur with its terrific handle look and S30V stainless-steel blade for toughness and ease of sharpening.

Tanto Blade -
This knife blade was inspired by the shape of the Japanese sword blades. The point to this style blade is in line with the spine of the blade. The tanto has a reinforced point which is thick and strong and is good for heavy duty stabbing cuts.

440A Stainless Steel -
440A is a US standard of a martensitic stainless steel. It is known to keep a hard edge but not as tough as some of the other martensitic stainless steel.

410 Stainless Steel -
Grade 410 is the basic martensitic stainless steel; like most non stainless steels it can be hardened by a "quench and temper" heat treatment. It contains a minimum of 11.5 per cent chromium. It achieves maximum corrosion resistance when it has been hardened and tempered and then polished. Grade 410 is a general purpose grade often supplied in the hardened, but still machinable condition, for applications where high strength and moderate heat and corrosion resistance are required.

What is SpeedSafe?
SpeedSafe is a patented system that assists the user to smoothly open any SpeedSafe knife with a manual push on the blade's thumb stud or pull back on the blade protrusion. SpeedSafe is built into many of Kershaw's best-selling knives.

How does SpeedSafe work?
The heart of SpeedSafe is its torsion bar. Closed, the torsion bar helps keep the knife closed, preventing it from being opened by "gravity." In order to open the knife, the user must apply manual pressure to the thumb stud or blade protrusion to overcome the resistance of the torsion bar. After the blade is out of the handle, the torsion bar moves along its half-moon track and takes over. The blade opens smoothly and locks into position, ready for use.

How safe is SpeedSafe?
Very, SpeedSafe opens ONLY when the user manually deploys it using either the thumb stud or blade protrusion. Once deployed, a locking system secures the blade in position so that it cannot close accidentally. When releasing the lock, the blade does not snap shut due to resistance provided by the torsion bar. This bar also provides a bias towards the closed position, which holds the blade securely closed. New SpeedSafe® users can ensure safe use of the technology by practicing to proficiency.

This knife is the best blade I have owned to date for a carry anywhere multi-purpose knife. I have even taken this diving with me, and she has held up GREAT for the last 2 years. ( I washed thoroughly with fresh water after diving ) I am back to buy 4 more, one for each of my groomsmen.

I've been carrying one of these knives for about 3 years now. It goes everywhere with me and it is the FIRST thing I put in my pocket when leaving home. The blade comes sharp enough to shave hair and will remain that way through normal use. I have used and abused this knife and sent it back to Kershaw for blade replacement under warranty twice, with no questions asked. Each time the very tip of the blade had broken off from extreme abuse. If you want an excellent spring assist pocket folder with a manufacturer that will stand behind it no questions asked, buy this knife.

Not only is this knife sexy it really peforms well. I've cut through all kinds of stuff with it and the blade is still sharp as ever. This is my go everywhere knife, I never leave home without it!

I've had this knife for a couple years now and don't leave home with out it. Its slim feature makes it great to carry in pocket. I've been very hard on it and the blade is still very sharp. I even cut metal banding with it and the blade has never been sharpened. Great buy!!

I have owned many different knives and this is one of the best folders i have come across yet. it is very quick for an assisted and locks up tight. the best part is that the blade sharpens easily with a ceramic sharpener and holds an edge well and there is practically no side to side movement in the blade. I can get the blade sharp enough to shave with in a matter of minutes and it holds the edge very well. even on cardboard it will still keep a decent edge after a lot of cutting.
