The 18.5" barrel shipped quickly and fits in the Mossberg 500 well. However, the barrel was loose and not protected in the hard plastic packaging. That packaging is designed to hold any length Mossberg barrel, where the short 18.5" barrel is free to slide around during shipment. Some of the bluing was scuffed off the barrel. A touch-up bluing pencil minimized most of the lost bluing, but the barrel isn't as nice in appearance as it should have been. Be advised of this bluing rubbing issue.

I bought this to add a Home Defense to my Mossberg 500 Pump. It is good quality no signs of wear. Comes on and off in just minutes. I have more then one Barrel, but this is very good for Home Defense. Has bead only sight so I added Ghost Ring Sights. It is lightweight and you notice the difference this makes in how easy it is to get past a door. Other Barrels are just too long and heavy for fast home Defense.

This is not a Mossberg barrel. It is not marked "Mossberg" anywhere. It did come in unsealed Mossberg packaging and looks to be used from scratches and wear marks on it. It does fit and will serve the purpose that I need it for. This is the first time in many orders from CTD that the product has been less than advertised.

Like many others, I bought this barrel to turn my Maverick 88 into a dual purpose weapon. I initially thought about cutting my 28" VR barrel down to minimum legal length. Because of CTD's e-mail notification, I was able to buy this at a great price and essentially have two shotguns for the price of a few boxes of shells. Now I can use the 28" for filling the crock pot, and the 18.5" for the larger varmints. CTD comes through again.

CDT really pulled through for me on this item, they e-mailed when it became available and delivered it fast. My Maverick 88 12ga pump came with a 28" ribbed barrel, great for hunting. Now with this new one my shotgun is in home defense mode and it fit perfect! It made my Mav88 much more versatile.

Just ordered this shotgun barrel for my mossberg 88 yesterday on 09/03/09 and recieved it on 09/04/09. Also ordered a gun stock for my 88, and a messenger bag. Two of my Items came from Ft. I fit this barrel onto my Mossberg Maverick and it attached like a dream. Good and sturdy and really shortened the overall profile of my shotgun as well as cutting down an extra pound or two of unneeded weight. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a good barrel at a cheap price.

This is a genuine mossberg barrel at an excellent price. It fits right on the maverick model 88 (by Mossberg) which is basically a mossberg 500. This barrel makes for a rather short shotgun even with a full buttstock, which is great for home defense.

This is good for Home Defense I would not recomend it for any other use. In addition, it is low price and good quality. The Mossber 500 you can change barrels in minutes. I have a total of 3 barrels and this one is good for the House.
