| After the previous review, I was hesitant to buy one of these, but it looked like it would be the best fit for my weapon. By the way, a standard M4, with carry handle and stock retracted, fits perfectly lengthwise. With a carry handle, you can also have a mag in place (EMPTY of course), or you may have room for optics, (I don't have one, so I couldn't test it).
This is my third bag from CTD, and I haven't been disappointed yet. They were all from China, and all pretty well made. This bag has no seams that "missed" one of the pieces of fabric that was being sown, or even any loose threads. The material appears to be 1000 denier nylon, the same quality as other items made of this material. The strap looks to be well attached, and a strong pull (MUCH stronger than it would ever need to carry the case loaded) showed no weakness. I can't vouch for how the zipper will hold up (it's a small, rather than large toothed one), but it's double stitched, no loose areas, works smoothly, and looks ok.
The pouches hold one each, 30rd mag. The foam is pretty dense, maybe 3/4" thick. Seems like it would protect a rifle pretty well in most situations. One gripe, the bag was folded into a square box, which "creased" the foam, this may disappear with time. Overall, a decent bag. If you just need something to keep your rifle from getting beat up while on it's way to the range etc., it'll definitely do the job. Sure, there's lots of better cases out there, but they cost a lot more too. Value for the money - excellent. |
