Like the aforementioned comment. The "screw-lock" keeps you from accidentally popping off the swivel. It does a decent job but it doesn't feel like it's top quality for the price.

These are good little swivels for the price. I have had no problems with them on my rifle or my combat shotgun (holds the weight great so far...) Only thing bad about them is they will come untwisted (not unlocked) so you have to watch out that they don't get "compressed" when they are like that or it would release the strap. However I shoot with these swivels a lot and I find that scenario highly unlikely...
