20 Round Belt Carrier -
Worn on the belt, this CASE-GARD ammo carrier puts twenty rounds at the hunter's fingertips. Each cartridge fits into its own recess, bullet down for easy removal. Two special ribs protect the bullet from touching the bottom of the case to guard against tip damage (which can change the flight characteristics of a bullet). Not only will your ammo be protected from dust and moisture, but the MTM Snap-Lok latch will prevent accidental openings. The calibers listed below will provide bullet tip protection with very little rattle; however, calibers not listed will fit loosely.

BLUF: Box of ammo that attaches to your belt, color doesn't match picture, make sure you buy the right size. Bought four of these for attaching .30-06 to the waistband MOLLE straps of my five day pack. First part of the review is for the product as-is, second part is for my modification. As is, a decent ammo box. Not like the picture, though - it's a solid crayon green; high contrast with tactical black or camo gear. I bought the wrong one (there's a separate box for smaller ammo), I think .30-06 isn't listed on this or the other size. This size is for .300 Win Mag (longer, fatter) and the like, and the other one is for .308 Win (shorter), so I may just have a round that won't fit in either. From looking at it, it will hold the correct size rounds as advertised. Thick, solid plastic, but not too heavy, will have a death grip on your belt. I modified it to clip to MOLLE. By just trimming the inside 1/3 of the plastic off of each of the outer tabs, you can slip in the center "upside down" tab, then rock in the two side tabs and let it hang on it's own weight. Even if bumped, it won't fall off the MOLLE, it takes coordinated effort to remove. I'm only carrying FMJ in it, so I'm not worried about the tips; if I was really worried I'd try the smaller boxes, or trim the plastic fins, line the lid with foam, and put them in tip up. Again, the "holds them tight by the case with no rattle and no damaged tips" feature probably works just great for the ammo they list.
