Compact Every Day Carry (EDC) Zytel Knife, Black -
The knife is the Black Glass Filled Nylon handledCompact EDC Knife, designed by Kit Carson. This Black Glass Filled Nylon handled Compact EDC knife features a 3" partially serrated tanto blade made of AUS4 stainless steel, .08" thick, with a Rockwell hardness of 55-57. The blade of this knife has a non reflective black EDP coat, a notched thumb rest, dual thumb studs and Carson Flipper for ambidextrous one hand opening. The drilled textured black Glass Filled Nylon handle, 4" closed, has dual 420J2 stainless steel liners, a liner lock and AutoLAWKS knife safety. A removable black Teflon plated stainless steel pocket clip is mounted at the pivot end of this knife.

Serrated Blade -
A serrated blade has a cutting edge that has many small points of contact with the material being cut. By having less contact area than a smooth blade, the applied force at each point of contact is relatively greater and the points of contact are at a sharper angle to the material being cut.

Tanto Blade -
This knife blade was inspired by the shape of the Japanese sword blades. The point to this style blade is in line with the spine of the blade. The tanto has a reinforced point which is thick and strong and is good for heavy duty stabbing cuts.

420J2 Stainless Steel -
420J2 is a low carbon stainless steel and also the entry grade of cutlery class stainless steel that is available. It is quite tough and resistant to corrosion. It has low wear resistance making it a very easy to shape and sharpen blade steel.

AutoLAWKS™ -
CRKT is the only manufacturer to offer our exclusive automatic version of the LAWKS system. A strong internal spring actuates the LAWKS system automatically when the blade is opened and locked. As with all CRKT folders, one hand opening is easy, and with a little practice, closing a folder equipped with AutoLAWKS is easy too. Because it is fully automatic, we believe that the AutoLAWKS safety system is the most secure mechanism available for folders.

Ambidextrous -
Using both hands with equal ease. Pertaining to knives, it is a knife that is not solely designed for a left or right handed person but can be used with equal ease by both hands.

This is a good knife overall. The only negative thing is mine just will not hold an edge, at all. I took it to a place to sharpen it to see if I was doing it wrong. They said that the knife wouldn’t hold an edge. I may get another one of these to see if mine was just a fluke.

I bought 6 for Christmas presents. I gave away 5 and kept 1. This is a sweet little knife. The blade has plenty of backbone, and will withstand many trips over the sharpener. In my profession, pocket knives get really abused, and the CRKT M16 series prove to be reliable tools. From zipping open cardboard boxes to prying out staples to cutting nylon line, these knives are not heirlooms. They are rugged, easily sharpened, everyday cutting tools. By the way, my daily carry is the CRKT M16 BIG DOG. The 3" Z is the baby of the family.

I don't know how sturdy it is when put to the test, but it is beautiful. Lots of fun to flick it out and surprise your friends, and with the clip has amazing self defense and tactical uses. While it's not a 'seatbelt cutter' I think with the serrations and sharp blade it would get you out of a car in no time. handle is very hard, could possibly be used as an emergency hammer to break glass. Love the knife!

Wow!! That was my first reaction when I picked up this knife. The online picture with its crappy detail does not show what this knife really looks like its awsome. It wasnt super sharp when i got it out of the box but a few slides through the sharpner and it was razor sharp!!!! It is easily worth fifty bucks but cheaper than dirt has a deal!!! If you want a better picture/description of the knife go to crkt.com and it will tell and show you all you need to know! If your looking for a new knife put this at the VERY top of your list I highly recommend it to anyone GO CRKT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i bought 2 of these one for me to carry in pocket day to day and the other for my wife to carry in the field during training or on deployment i do like the LITTLE knife seems of good quality was expecting a larger overall product but still worth the money way to go CRKT

After using this knife I have to say I'm more than impressed with it. To flip the blade out fast, just push the tab on top of the knife with a flick of the wrist and the blade flips out effortlessly. The action is smoother than any other knife I have owned, and for less than $30 it's a steal. When compared to my Buck Tempest ($75+) this knife is better in so many ways; it's lighter, thinner, no heavy spring tension, easier to close, same blade length, military feel, and Cheaper Than Dirt! If your looking for a new knife, put this at the top of your list.

I've had this knife now for about 6 months and it's been one of the greatest tools I've purchased. The chisel point is great for gouging, the serrated portion is great on nylon cord and the textured nub makes it sooo easy to open using only one hand. I use it hunting, camping, hiking or just "around town." This knife is worth every penny I spent.

This is a very impressive knife for the price. the action is very smooth, and the little protrusion from the blade allows you to open it very quickly. the auto-lawks safety makes it virtually impossible to close accidentally, but it's still easy enough to close when you try. Definiteley reccomended.
