Paraframeā„¢ I, Fine Edge -
If Gerber had settled for making just one version of the Paraframe knife, people might have been content. Because this reputable example of framelock design caught on admirably among knife lovers...making the Paraframe a mainstay of the industry.

There is simplicity to this knife that relates as much to function as it does to form. It's a breeze to open. The clip point blade configuration is ideal for cutting in close quarters. Openness rules the day where the handle is concerned-there's more air than metal-so it's quite lightweight and quite easy to keep clean.

Clip Blade -
The clip blade is a classic shape and very practical. Its name describes a shape that seems to have a portion of the spine of the blade clipped off. This brings the blade point lower for extra control and enhances the sharpness of the tip. It provides ample "belly" in the blade for slicing or skinning and a good tip for inserting in and under things that need to be cut. You will often find a false edge with the clip point.

Frame Lock -
Also known as the Integral Lock or Monolock. The Frame Lock is a locking mechanism invented by custom knife maker Chris Reeve for the Sebenzas an update to the liner lock. The Frame Lock works in a manner similar to the liner lock but uses a partial cutout of the actual knife handle, rather than a separate liner inside the handle to hold the blade in place.

Titanium Nitride -
Extremely hard ceramic material, often used as a coating on titanium alloys, steel, carbide, and aluminum components to improve the substrate's surface properties. ?

The color in the picture is not what the knife looks like. Its not purple and black its just a dark gray. This is disappointing. But still a decent knife.

4.0 Rating my carry knife - 3/3/2009
Reviewer: Kilroy
I have carried this knife every day for the last 5 years. my only complaint is that the hinge screw gets loose some times. not a big deal. for the money, this is the best frame-lock knife i have ever used.
