Had this gun for about 2 years. I shoot it on a regular basis, about 3 to 4 times a month. I absolutely love it. Just be sure to clean it.
Like it with a little work

I have had mine for several years and while I liked it from day one there was some minor work to make it better. If you are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself. I did a little filing, sanding and even some polishing on the moving parts to make this gun work smoothly. I don't want to go into too much detail because if you are not sure what you are doing you can mess up your gun. Your local gunsmith can do the work and it shouldn't cost too much. I was able to get the action a little smoother, lighten both the pull on the hammer and the trigger, and just get all the parts moving smoothly. Now I love this gun and shoot it regularly. Do yourself one other favor and buy extra cylinders for preloading.

This is one of the best Black-Powder pistols available; it's heft and strength being a notable characteristic. If you're not familiar with the use of Black-Powder Pistols, there are a few questions you'll have regarding their use. I'll attempt to assist in this regard. First; I recommend you start your Black-Powder firing with the use of round ball projectiles. For a .44 cal. pistol I like to use the .451 diameter lead balls. These should fit tight enough to seal securely as should be personally evidenced by the shaving off of a small ring of lead during the loading procedure. Secondly; do not use patches. Load the balls directly over the powder. This is not merely my suggestion, it's the norm. Thirdly; "Bore Butter" is often used to cover the loaded ball(s) as it provides a seal to protect against the possibility of one cylinder igniting another as well as its lubing the barrel while firing the weapon. Finally; these pistols use the "3F-G" type powder. Do not use "2F" or "4F" powder in this pistol. I hope this helps people get started. I have a lot of fun shooting these pistols and hope you will as well. Good Luck.

This Remington is the easiest loading and funnest shooting black powder revolver that I have shot. The cylinder is tightly fitted to the gun. F .LLI PIETTA manufactured these guns in Italy and they are high quality, tight fitting guns. Shooting is very pleasant due to the heft, and the cluod of smoke is habit forming!! I recommend these highly. Scott
