Checkered frontstraps provide a non slip surface for quick follow up shots, even with sweaty hands. Wrap around checkered frontstraps are an inexpensive substitute for hand checkering. The frontstrap is secured in place with the pistols grip panels. This is a drop in part requiring only a screw driver for installation. Frontstrap only works on Government and Commander models.

I bought this to place on my new Kimber Custom 2 and haven't had a single issue with it. The piece works great and as long as you understand that you'll have to work with it a little to form it to the front strap of your weapon. You'll be pleased as well. I agree that without tight fitting grips it could come loose but if your grips aren't fit tight then you have other issues to start with. Over all I am happy with the purchase.

I like the aggressive checkering, but this couldn't be more than .10 worth of plastic. This is no good for Hogue rubber grips. The strap wants to stay flat so it pushes the grips outward and creates a gap between the grips and the frame. It was already sliding out of one side before 50 rounds were fired trough it. If it had more of a natural curve and the checkering continued under the grips it may have a better chance of staying in place. NOT worth the $$$! Get some textured grip tape and trim it to fit, it is a better idea.

you need to make sure the grips are tight fitting to the frame. if they are not then this will not stay in place. other than that, it is a great alternative to spending the extra money for checkering.
