Now you can have a high ride beavertail grip safety on your 1911 pistol without cutting the frame. This provides better control of your pistol while eliminating the discomfort and hammer bite that are possible with stock grip safeties. To return your gun to stock condition, simply re-install the factory part. The drop-in safety is designed to work with a commander style hammer or a bobbed spur hammer. Due to variations from one pistol to the next, slight modifications to the beavertails trigger engagement area may be required for proper operation.

The title says it all: slides right in place, no modification needed, works flawlessly, feels strong, looks cool. Watched a YouTube video on how to drop in your own grip safety. Took about 5 minutes, and I was rocking a great new addition to my Para GI Expert in no time.

I just received my Wilson Combat grip safety,trigger, and hammer in the mail today. (All were the drop in Wilson parts.) All of them fit in my RIA 1911 G.I. without any modification. Aside from having to re-disassemble once because the trigger wouldn't half cock. (this was my first detail strip of the weapon), everything fit wonderfully. The weapon was function checked perfectly. Aside from the sight upgrade to my RIA, all parts I have bought for this pistol have been from Cheaper Than Dirt, and I have been impressed.

This grip safety fit very well into my Rock Island 1911-A1. After reading all the 1911 forums I was afraid I was going to have to grind it down, but it sliped in just fine. I also used Wilson's value skeleton hammer which also fit very well. Good Item, worth the $30.

another great quality part from wilson combat! took some light modification to fit on my Rock Island GI, but that is to be expected in my opinion. NOTE: notice the shape of the cut out portion around the hole and how it is different than part # 55345. Choosing the wrong one would require a lot of grinding or leave a large gap
