Plain Spear Point Blade Sting Fixed Knife -
The Columbia River Sting is hot forged making the knife very tough. Although they are very tough, low alloy steels do not have the rust resistance imparted by the chromium and nickel in stainless steels, so they apply a black non reflective powder coat finish to stop corrosion. The spear point blade features two razor sharp cutting edges. The integral handle is contoured to fit the bare or gloved hand nicely and provides heft and balance, with thumb detents for grip. A large lanyard hole is provided, allowing the use of a wrist lanyard, or carry as a neck knife.

Spear Point Blade -
The classic stabbing blade is the spear point which can have two edges sharpened or only one with a false edge on the spine. The spear point usually has both edges taper equally to a point that is exactly in the center of the blade but sometimes has different profiles for the spine and edge.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

Lanyard Hole -
This is a hole to fit a lanyard, rope or carrying implement through.

5.0 Rating High Quality Knife - 11/18/2006
Reviewer: Woody
I'd heard and read a lot of good reviews of this knife so I ordered one for my personal use. It came today! Shipping was very fast! I'm impressed with the quality and feel of this knife. Fits perfectly into my hand and feels good. Sheath allows it to be carried on the belt, leg or boot. Knife is held securly into the sheath and can even be worn upside down on the leg which makes access easy. I love it!

I BOUGHT THIS KNIFE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND I LOVE IT! I AM A FEDERAL INVESTGATOR AND CARRY THIS LITTLE GUY ON DUTY EVERY DAY. IT IS SMALL AND COMPACT ENOUGH TO CARRY ANYWHERE! I CARRY MINE ON MY BOOT AND ON MY MOLLE ENTRY VEST...WORKS VERY WELL. I HAVE THROWN IT, CUT VARIOUS MATERIALS WITH IT, AND IT IS STILL AS SHARP AS EVER. THE SHEATH IT COMES WTH IS AWESOME! KYDEX INSERT AND POSITIVE RETENTION EVEN WHEN YOUR ON THE RUN. BEST FIXED BLADE I MAY EVER OWN! TOUGH, COMPACT, BALANCED ENOUGH TO THROW, AND A GREAT SHEATH. PLUS, THE PRICE! BUY IT...YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED.

5.0 Rating Good Knife - 11/22/2008
Reviewer: Karate-Cowboy
I have had this knife for about a year. It is the back-up knife that I carry most often. It fits just fine on my ankle inside both my western boots and the combat boots I wear when on duty. It will not slip out of the sheath when running, the clip holds it securly and yet you can deploy it rapidly without undoing any straps or snaps. The knife is made of one solid piece of steel with no added on handle grips to break or crack. It comes with its double edge very sharp. I would highly reccomend this knife and have already had a few of my friends and fellow officers get one for themselves.

5.0 Rating The perfect knife to carry on your ankle! - 12/2/2008
Reviewer: Kevin - KRA SHARPSHOOTER
This knife is simply amazing! I have used it for so many different types of jobs; cutting cardboard, dressing game, cutting down a tree stand, and normal every day chores. I wear it on my ankle all the time. It is so comfortable inside my work boot that I will sometimes forget that I have it on me. It is held in the sheath very securely, yet can be drawn with little resistance. I have practiced drawing it from my ankle with jeans on & I am confident that if I was ever attacked I could quickly pull it out and defend myself. The knife is made out of 1050 carbon steel so it isn't very rust resistant. It comes with the black coating on everything except the edges of the blade to prevent rusting, but you will want to clean the blade frequently to avoid any potential problems. The coating on the tip of the blade will also start to wear if used often This blade comes razor sharp so you'll want to be careful the first few times you draw the knife from the sheath. Since the whole knife is a solid piece of metal it is perfect for throwing. If you have never thrown a knife before you should begin on a dedicated throwing knife, but if you looking for a knife that can be concealed and easily drawn for normal tasks, then this is the knife for you.
