Plain Spear Point Blade Sting Fixed Knife -
The Columbia River Sting is hot forged making the knife very tough. Although they are very tough, low alloy steels do not have the rust resistance imparted by the chromium and nickel in stainless steels, so they apply a black non reflective powder coat finish to stop corrosion. The spear point blade features two razor sharp cutting edges. The integral handle is contoured to fit the bare or gloved hand nicely and provides heft and balance, with thumb detents for grip. A large lanyard hole is provided, allowing the use of a wrist lanyard, or carry as a neck knife.

Spear Point Blade -
The classic stabbing blade is the spear point which can have two edges sharpened or only one with a false edge on the spine. The spear point usually has both edges taper equally to a point that is exactly in the center of the blade but sometimes has different profiles for the spine and edge.

Zytel -
A glass filled nylon material used in making handles for knives. DuPont trademark.

Lanyard Hole -
This is a hole to fit a lanyard, rope or carrying implement through.

Pretty great knife for the money. A little heavy but all in all a great back up knife. The sheath seems to be fairly durable and mine makes noise when walking.

I got this knife a while back and like it very much. Some draw backs are that the handle is too smooth and the plastic sheath rattles with each step you take.....Might want to wear it on the inside of your boot rather than the outside for noise reduction.

This is the best boot knife i have ever owned i keep it on my left ankle inside my boot its easy to draw and can be thrown if u know how(not a good knife to start with as stated before). great quality and weight u should get one :P I'm ordering another.

Perfect combo of form & function. Has never fallen out of the sheath & stays put against ankle so well i even wear it with low top sneakers (under jeans) because i know it wont move. I thought the tension may wear out after several draws but after almost a year of use it feels like it did on day 1. I haven't even touched on how great the knife itself is--good balance & weight, solid construction, durable, and the grip is designed in a way that you can really get your thumb wedged against it (recessed area near base of blade) so as not to slide up the knife while thrusting & concequently cutting your hand.
