I shot these at watermelons and gallons of water along with FMJ, HP, and Hydrashok. These were by far the most impressive. The FMJ did what FMJs do. The HP and Hydrashok performed similarly. But when it came time for the Pow'RBall... There was a huge difference. I tested penetration by putting phone books behind the gallons of water. The Hydra and HP went about a 1/3 into the book. This went 2/3 into it and the FMJ went all the way through. Even with the better penetration in comparison to the HPs it seemed to have more energy transfer. It fed flawlessly. It's what I'll be using for self defense from now on.

I worry to shoot too many +P rounds as to not damage my weapon...but of 50 rounds, they do fine. I carry these. Shoot an orange and cantelope and it EXPLODES like dynamite hit it. Seems to transfer more energy on the target and not thorugh target like FMJ and JHP.

Shot 10 rounds of powrball today... Man do they make a HUGE hole on the paper. I'd say the holes were double the size of the holes federal ball and the magtech guardian golds made. I was really amazed, if that says anything to you.

A great self defense round, especially for cold weather when the perp may have several layers on or even a leather coat. It feeds without hiccup in my Para 1911, which is finicky with some top brand large mouth hollow points. Also, great service from CTD! I ordered several boxes of this and other ammo on Monday at 9:55 pm and the package arrived Wednesday mid-afternoon.

I picked up a couple boxes of the Cor-Bon Pow'R Ball ammo. It allows you to shoot JHP's without having to polish the ramp of most 1911-style handguns. My only complaint: in a dark or dimly-lit room the muzzle flash would be blinding. I'm at the range once a week with my Springfields (XD-9 and 1911A1 Loaded). This has a noticably brighter flash than other loads. It's a great price and has consistant feeding. The flash won't deter me from buying it again!
