this thing is listed under weapon munts for flashlights and when it gets here i find out that its for securing extended mag tubes i couldn't be more disappointed this thing is crap for mounting lights. Dont buy unless you need for securing mag tube to barrel.

The item is probably fine for what it is - a clamp to fit between the barrel and magazine tube - but I gave it a low rating because it won't work as a light mount, at least for the model of Mossberg 500 I have (Tactical Cruiser, 18" barrel, pistol grip). I guess the confusion is that it's listed under "Weapon Mounts for Lights", which is what I bought it for. Unfortunately, it's too wide to fit on the mag tube between the forearm and the endcap. It's well made for the price and it might work for other models, but make sure you have room to attach it - at that price it's not worth returning.
