5.0 Rating Can't get enough - 6/10/2014
Reviewer: Black Betty
I love this pistol. I've put 400-500 rounds of .38sp through it with no problems. I had a few lock-ups (hammer, trigger, & cylinder freeze after firing) with .357mag loads when the gun had less than 100 rounds through it. I chose to shoot only .38sp for 200 shots after those and have had no problems since. I read several reviews that said .357mag right off the bat may lead to that. I now have 200-300 rounds of .357mag & 400-500 rounds of .38sp of flawless operation. It's very pleasant to shoot .38sp loads at the range. However, .357mag loads feel like a mule is kicking your hand. But that's to be expected with a 2" barreled .357mag. It's also VERY loud with the .357mag load. VERY. Which I prefer in a EDC defense handgun. It will provide that "shock & awe" factor should it ever be used in a defense scenario. It will also turn all heads in an indoor range. It's a accurate as can be expected with a 2" barreled, defensive pistol. At 50' it's not hard to put all 7 rounds in the 6-10 rings on a standard 8&1/2 x 11 target. Overall, I would recommend this pistol for anyone looking for the unparalleled stopping power of a .357mag, a concealable rig, and another round or two over the standard 5 or 6 round snub nosed competitors. Just allow for a proper 300-400 round break-in period.

4.0 Rating Outstanding 357 stubby - 2/13/2012
Reviewer: Helgy
I can't give a 5 star (bullet) review only because I've put less than 100 rounds through the gun. That being said, everything about this gun has been excellent so far. Before I review the gun, let me first say that the CTD experience was very positive. All parts of the transaction went smoothly. Now to the gun. Fit and finish: It looks great. The finish is smooth and downright pretty. Both my wife and I can handle it easily, and our hands are quite different. It would fit a bit large for a lady with small hands, but it easily fits both of us. Function: The SA is awesome. Cock, point, pull, and hit where you aim. DA is a smooth but strong pull--I haven't measured it--but DA accuracy with a short barrel is very different than in SA, as it is with any gun. I'm not complaining at all--just stating my experience. Prior to buying this Taurus, I spoke with two dealers and both had very positive things to say about the newest gen of Taurus. After my limited experience, I'm inclined to agree. Whether you consider price or not, this is a good gun.
