The SureFire high capacity magazine for 5.56x45 mm (.223 Remington) ammunition is compatible with M-4, M-16 and AR15 variants and other firearms that accept STANAG 4179 (standard M16) magazines. Constructed from Mil-Spec hard-anodized aluminum, they feed smoothly and reliably due to optimal geometry, non-binding coil springs, and ingenious nesting polymer followers. The long-lasting springs are cadmium coated for low friction and excellent corrosion resistance. Magazines require no lubricants and can be easily disassembled without tools for cleaning.

SureFire High capacity magazines provide distinct tactical advantages: increased initial firepower in ambush situations; fewer reloads overall, which means less downtime and target distraction in a firefight; fast and easy magazine insertion, even with a closed bolt; less bulk compared to drum mags, enabling a normal weapon grip.

The SureFire 60 round magazine is slightly thinner than two 30 round magazines clipped together and is about the same overall length. The SureFire 60 round magazine fits in most dual magazine pouches, eliminating special carry pouches required for drum magazines.

I didn't know what to expect when I first bought this round. I figured that I would buy one before they get banned by worthless politicians, and glad I did. The mag does what it is supposed to do. Although, I can't get the full 60 rounds in, I think it was like 55 last time I counted, but still a lot more than 30 rounds. Also, if you don't beat the magazine on the back on something hard, could have a jam in the magazine. Beating the back of the magazine on a hard surface makes sure that the rounds are to the rear and that they are sitting over the spring of where the spring is located making for a clean feed of every round. Using this mag in a sig 516 5.56 piston driven ar-15 and works fine as long as I bang the back side of the magazine on sometime hard to ensure no miss feeds.

Overall, this is a great mag. It let's you save on reloading time. Also, it's just fun to let loose 60 in a rapid burst. As what the other buyer said, you do need to lube the springs, preferably with a dry lube like Rem Oil. Also, the floor plate is kind of weak. If you drop a full mag on a hard surface, you will pop the plate off and likely bend the retaining tabs. Suggest having a lanyard for it or making a rubber/neoprene sleeve for the floor plate. I knocked off 1 bullet for not being durable enough to handle its own full weight if dropped.
