The Hornady Lock-N-Load Ammo Plant turns any reloading bench into the ultimate reloading factory. This kit combines all of the innovative features found on the Lock-N-Load AP including automatic indexing and 5 die stations with the Hornady automatic bullet feeder and automatic case feeder.

The Lock-N-Load APpress features include; Lock-N-Load quick change technology, fully automatic indexing, 5-station die platform that accepts standard 7/8"-14 threaded dies, and the EZ-ject System that delivers 100% reliable cartridge ejection. This press is capable of loading rifle and handgun cartridges with ease.

Notes:

The EZ-ject system is designed to work with updated shellplates. Earlier version shellplates are not adaptable with the EZ-ject system. To tell if shellplates need to be updated, turn the shellplate upside down and look for a groove that runs in a circular pattern around the shellplate. For further instruction please refer to the "what to look for" link below. If there is no groove present Hornady will modify old shellplates to work with the EZ-ject system.

First, this is a review just after setting up the machine and only testing its functionality for depriming and resizing. This machine is very well thought out. The bushing system makes changing out dies a breeze. Say if you only want to resize and de-primer some cases, you can just set in the one die and go to town. The half index on the up stroke and the half index on the down stroke is very interesting. Movement is kept to a minimum. The EZ ject system works very well so far. It's a very tight package when you load it up with dies in every station. The shell feeder works well. However, it tends to get stuck occasionally when used with .38 Special. The workmanship kind of lacks on a few parts. For example, the base plate on my machine has very crude marks left from the machining process, they are on a surface that does not need to be machined but it is an eyesore. The drop tube for larger cartridges was too large to fit the bottom part of the cartridge feed system. It took lots of effort to get the tube inside the metal piece and I still couldn't get it to seat completely. My machine was shipped complete, minus two set screws for the bullet feeder. They are the set screws that hold the spring swipers. This machine is solidly built and overall easily earns the 4 bullets just in presentation. Once I have loaded some rounds through it, I will edit this to reflect how it performs.
