Sierra Blitz Varminter Soft Tip Bullet

All Sierra bullet jackets are made from gilding metal, a copper alloy composed of 95% copper and 5% zinc. Sierra makes the core of the bullet from four lead alloys: 6% antimony-4% tin, 6% antimony, 3% antimony, 1 1/2% antimony and pure lead. For each bullet, Sierra selects the proper lead alloy for the best combination of accuracy and expansion in the finished projectile. A customized lead extrusion process contributes to our product uniformity. Varmint hunting places extreme demands on bullet performance. Such bullets must be exceptionally accurate to hit small targets, lightly constructed to provide explosive expansion while minimizing ricochets, and lightweight to obtain high velocities with flat trajectories.

Absolutely the best choice for a 1-14" twist .22-250. It was short exposed lead tip bullets like this that the timely .22-250 was designed around, and it is short exposed lead tip bullets like this that the .22-250 still thrives on. The shorter 50's will always outshoot the 55's, and with 3800 fps velocities. The "polymers" are pretty for sure, but the groups they shoot out of 1-14" twist barrels aren't. And, as the 50 grain exposed lead tip bullets are the cheapest, how could things be any better? The 50 grain BLITZ is the very best .22-250 bullet!
