.30-30 Winchester Hornady LeverEvolution Centerfire Rifle Cartridge, 160 Grain Evolution Ballistic Flex Tip Bullet, 2400 fps, 20 Rounds Per Box

2046 ft/lb.s muzzle
2150 fps at 100 yards
1643 ft/lbs. at 100 yards
1916 fps at 200 yards
1304 ft/lbs. at 200 yards

The bullets look like Hornady's SST bullets but are specifically designed for tubular magazine applications. Hornady overcame the dangers of accidental discharge by using a polymer tip pliable enough to mush against the primer but stiff enough not to deform in flight.

20 rounds per box. To buy a full case, order 10 boxes.

LEVERevolution is the most exciting thing to ever happen to lever gun ammunition. Hornady, the leader in ballistic technology, brings you an innovation in ammunition performance featuring state of the industry patented, FTX (Flex Tip eXpanding) bullets that are SAFE in your tubular magazine. Its higher ballistic coefficient delivers dramatically flatter trajectories for fantastic downrange energy increases and amazing bullet expansion at all ranges. It truly is an evolution in lever gun ammunition!

Up to 250 feet per second faster muzzle velocity than conventional lever gun loads.
Exceptional accuracy and overwhelming downrange terminal performance.
Patented FTX bullet featuring Flex Tip Technology.
Up to 40% more energy than traditional flat point loads.

The innovative LEVERevolution bullet design may require a newer magazine follower to provide best possible functioning of the last round out of the magazine. These magazine followers may be purchased from the manufacturer of your firearm. For optimum performance we do not recommend storing LEVERevolution ammunition in tubular magazines for extended periods, as this can result in tip deformation.

4.0 Rating The best 30-30 I've tried - 5/30/2007
Reviewer: mnw
Excellent ammo! I consistently shoot 2”/100 yd. groups with factory irons, out of my 40’s vintage Winchester 94. The trajectory was much flatter than the sights are regulated for and the point of impact was much higher. Both problems are easily compensated for.

5.0 Rating Better than Handloads - 12/21/2007
Reviewer: JohnnyD
I have hand loaded my 30-30 for years and have been happy with them until I shot a box of these. With a slight elevation adjustment I get consistant 5 shot groups at 100 yards that make 1 ragged hole! I no longer reload 30-30's. I shot a 225 lb wild pig at 230 yards holding dead on his shoulder. 1 shot through both shoulders, dropped him where he stood! Bullet broke both shoulders and exited the other side! Impressive! I can't wait until Hornady makes a leverEvolution 44 Mag!

5.0 Rating Shoots great ! - 1/4/2008
Reviewer: Ron
Fired the first 4 rounds of this stuff on a recommendation from a friend. Used an old Marlin 336 with Weaver 3x9 scope (on 9x, from bags). first 3 rds in 1/2" (ctr to ctr), the fourth (flier) opened the group up to 7/8" at 100 yds. Thats smoking, for a lever. I usually got around 1.5-1.75" with regular loads. Hornady's website doesn't really show what their zero range is, since it shows 3" high at 100 and .2 high at 200, but screwing around with their numbers shows the BC should be around .329 at 2400 FPS (listed, at the muzzle. At 160 gr, this is 10 grains heavier and a little faster than standard 150 gr loads), and the results approximate their trajectory table. Doing this shows Hornady's "zero" is around 197/198 yds, which I can only figure they did because they didn't want to show higher than 3" off (higher than) zero at 100. Doing my own numbers, for a zero at 150 yds (using the listed velocity and calculated BC) shows a trajectory 1.3" high at 100 yds and -3.4" at 200 yds, if this helps. Can't wait to see how this stuff works on CA pigs.

5.0 Rating Best 30-30 ammo - 1/24/2008
Reviewer: Paul
Before this ammo came out, I used a Ruger Mini-30, 7.62x39. When I heard about the Evolution rounds, I did a little more research on ballistic characteristics and the numbers said that this round made a 30-30 at least equal to that Mini-30. After reading all that good stuff about it I bought a Marlin 30AS and tried this stuff out. I was absolutely not disapointed. It might be just my imagination, but in the field this ammo seemed to out-perform the 7.62x39 by a pretty good margin. And it definitely has the knock-down power. Deer hunting in north central Nebraska in 2006 at 150 yds and in 2007 at 260yds, one shot dropped Bambi where he stood, we think the second one might have even spun him 90 degrees. I've used flat and round nose ammo since for practice and there really is no comparrison. This ammo is awsome and has even garnered some admiration from those .270 and .30-06 guys.
