I have a Model 94AE that is more of a plinking gun to me than a dedicated hunting rifle. Having read many reviews of this cartridge figured I would give it a try. I have my Model 94 dialed in at 100 yds for 150gr handloads and Federal factory ammo. Best groups average 1 1/2 - 2". Loaded up some leverevolution and could not hit the paper. Figured out I was shooting 7" higher than standard loads. Without redialing scope simply aimed 7" lower and shot 3 round test groups. Unbelievable!! These bullets were producing groups under 1" with my best off a bench rest being just under 1/2". Liked the possibilities of this cartridge so much and coplained to my Fiance about having to resight scope and just plink with my surplus of handloads that she bought me a Marlin 336XLR for X-mas. Gotta love her. Can't wait to get good weather to put this combination to the test. The only reason I gave this ammo a 4 bullet rating is because I have not proven it on game. Everyone else seems to be pleased and I'm sure I will as well. As a reloader I can only hope hornady offers the bullet only to us in the future.

This round makes all the diference... I can now shoot greater distances with greater accuracy and knock down power! I shot a deer at 200 yds dead center to my cross hairs and knocked it off it's feet. Wow, thanks Hornady!

I GOT SOME OF THESE SHELLS AND A PUT A NEW SCOPE ON MY DAD'S MARLIN, ITS AN OLD GUN, AT LEAST ABOUT 30 YEARS OLD. DAD HAS BEEN TURNING DOWN SOME SHOT BECAUSE OF DISTANCE. SO I GOT THESE TO TRY, AND HE HAS KILLED 4 DEER THIS YEAR WITHOUT A PROBLEM, AND ONE OF THEM WAS ABOUT 150 YARDS AWAY. ONE SHOT, ONE KILL. THEY GROUP AWESOME, AND SHOOT SUPER FLAT, THEY ARE THE BEST I'VE SEEN.

I got a box of these from a friend, I've been shooting Remington 150 since I got my 336aw a few years ago, good rifle, never needed a scope and got used to it with just iron sights. My Elk-hunter friends invited me out to follow along in Colorado. I quit hunting after my New York experience, too many hunters with "Buck Fever" can ruin anything. I planned on plinking and such, but as we made camp one friend spotted a cow on a hill, only one with a rifle handy, I took the shot, about 100 yds paced, she went down the hill. Everyone thought I missed, we went up to the hill and there she was, dead as a doornail. The round missed her ribs and tagged her square in the heart, she ran maybe 6 feet before dropping. I just stood there trying to look like I meant for that to happen. Great round (one in a million shot, never admit that though).

A word to the wise, if you are planing on using this particular ammunition in an older model .30 caliber rifle, shoot and shoot often. These from my own experience are very erratic. My Winchester 74 will shoot almost anything you put in it except these shells. It tends to sling to bullets out of the barrel. I've purchased a box this year, and had to go back to the 150 gr. Winchester load. They seem to work great in the newer Marlin models but as for the older style .30 caliber, be cautious when changing shells. Like the old saying if it ain't broke don't fix it.
