I purchased this item thinking it would just slip into place - boy was I in for a surprise. This product did not fit any of my SKS rifles. I tried Yugo, Russian, and Chinese - no luck. It wouldn't fit any!! It looks good but does not work. Wasted MONEY!

Not impressed with this. I had to file the receiver pin hole just to get it to slide on. There is a lot of material there. I didn't want to take too much off, so I did it all by hand with a file and a lot of test fitting. This is an SKS for crying out loud, not a $6k race gun. I know there is going to be slop, but I didn't expect to have to hand fit the darn thing. If you are looking to get something that is a drop in part, this is not it. Be ready to break out the tools and spend some quality time with your SKS making this fit.

As said by r29, this receiver cover is garbage! Even with machining, it refused to work on my Yugo SKS. It was too long, so I did some grinding and sanding and I got it just about perfect length. I then tried forcing the retaining pin through and it would not budge. I machined the retainer pin hole out slightly, but it would still not fit. Do NOT buy this even if you think you can get it to fit. Weaver made it very well, but got the dimensions all wrong. I would buy this again in a heart beat if it fit right. The rail is great with the ability to still use your iron sights without changing the receiver back out. First disappointing product I have received from CTD. Will be returning ASAP. I still will order everything but this from CTD, everything else I have bought is great! Ordered online with a few other things Saturday night and got the boxes today (Thursday).
