If you want to mount standard rings on your 22, this will fit tight on a Marlin 795 and not so much on a Henry Lever Action 22. It slides on the end of your 3/8 dovetail and is held in place by two setscrews down the center of the painted aluminum extrusion. I figured the steel setscrews would scratch my receiver so I put a small piece of plastic strapping between the receiver and this Weaver base.
