Folks: beware this is not a "real" Sig, it is like a "knock-off" 1911. The slide is cast aluminum that has been more or less spray painted flat black. The finish is very thin and scratches very easily. The sights are a cheap plastic, which are very fragile. The pistol only comes with one magazine. If you buy additional magazines, they are $40.00 each - that is a bit of a rip-off in my book. CTD did a great job shipping the gun to my FFL. The price was very reasonable compared to other dealers who advertised the same pistol for as much as $50.00 more than CTD's price. Just a suggestion, pay the extra few dollars and get a Ruger 22/45 if you are anxious to practice with a 1911 grip feel/angle - you will be happier with the Ruger quality and sights. CTD sells the 10 round mags for the Ruger for far less than the price of the Sig mags. The Sig shoots fairly straight. However, the Ruger does the job just as well. Have had several jams and failures to feed with the Sig, but haven't had that experience with the Ruger 22/45. Hope this helps if you are planning to purchase this pistol. To sum it up, this is a fragile jam-o-matic 1911 prop. Be cautious about getting the Sig. UPDATE: I have put about 1,500 rounds through this pistol. FTF and FTE are extremely high - higher than any rimfire auto I have ever owned. Each time the gun is fired, the flimsy potmetal lower scrapes against the upper, which has worn groves into the potmetal upper. The empty cartridges, which failed to eject, have chipped the metal around the ejection port. I had to file the edges of the port to prevent the jagged edges from cutting my hand. Hate to admit it, but this is probably the worst investment I've ever made in a 22 pistol. Have decided to put the pistol back in the box and retire it. Will be buying a Rock River from CTD.
